Want to be a developer? Want to enhance your current role? Switch to a new career or just want to learn coding as a hobby? There are hundreds of programming languages out there, you’ll have to decide what programming language to start with, so...what is the best programming language to start with?
First of all, there’s no such thing as “best programming language” out there. Your first language should depend onwhat kind of projects you want to work on, your goal or what path you are heading.
It’s a good idea to ask yourself two key questions:
To have fun? To switch your career?
Well, If you’re just learning for fun, just pick any language you like! Some popular languages that are suitable for beginners include HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or Python.
If you’re looking to make a career switch or get a new job, reach out to people in the industry/field that you’re interested in. For example, If you’re interested in mobile development, web development, data science, artificial intelligence or another industry, reach out to folks in those communities and ask what a typical working day looks like for them, to see if it's something that interesting enough for you to dive in. What languages do they use and what do they recommend starting with?
Web development? Data analytics? Game development?
