Pair Programming Workshop
Practise the skill real engineering teams run on: building software with a partner. Driver, navigator, and a mentor on hand - coders of all levels welcome.
Pair programming is at the heart of how real engineering teams write better code - and it’s one of the fastest ways to level up. This workshop is your chance to practise it, with coders of all skill levels welcome and encouraged to join.
We kick off with a quick intro to pair programming and tips to sharpen your technical communication. Then you’ll be paired with someone at a similar level to work through a challenge together - one person drives (writing the code) while the other navigates (guiding the logic) - with a mentor on hand to help you past any blocks.
You’ll need a working microphone to take part, and please join on time, as you’ll be paired with a partner right at the start. Use the session to practise key skills, build confidence, and connect with fellow learners.
What you’ll get
- A quick intro to pair programming and technical communication
- Hands-on reps with the driver / navigator technique on a real challenge
- A mentor on hand to unblock you as you build
- Confidence coding with a partner, plus new people to learn with
Who it’s for
- Coders of all skill levels - beginners are welcome
- Self-learners who’ve never coded with another person
- Anyone prepping for technical interviews or a first dev role
Open to all experience levels - no prior experience required. New to coding? Warm up with 6 Projects in 6 Days, our free crash course, to set yourself up for success. Either way, this session is designed to meet you where you are.
